Lobi Stars have officially been relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) following yet another disappointing result.
The Makurdi-based side saw their demotion confirmed on Sunday after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Ahmed Musa broke the deadlock for the home team in the 54th minute, before Naziru Auwalu sealed the win with a stoppage-time penalty.
Rooted to the bottom of the table with just 25 points from 33 matches, Lobi Stars are now mathematically out of the race for survival—regardless of the outcomes of their remaining fixtures.
Their relegation makes them the first team to drop to the Nigeria National League (NNL) this season.
