Residents and businesses in parts of Wuse II, Maitama and Life Camp in Abuja should expect a temporary electricity disruption on Wednesday, October 28, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out scheduled maintenance at its Katampe 1 transmission station.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, October 27, TCN said its maintenance team would work on a 100MVA power transformer and associated switchgear at the 132/33kV Katampe 1 transmission substation.
The maintenance is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
During the seven-hour exercise, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to receive electricity from the transmission station for distribution to customers in the affected areas.
The planned maintenance is part of TCN’s efforts to maintain its transmission infrastructure and support reliable electricity delivery.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers for the inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause.
Residents and businesses in the affected communities are advised to make necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance.
