The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled a new Anti-Corruption Policy Document aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, integrity and ethical conduct across the organisation.
The policy was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at TCN’s Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
Speaking at the event, TCN’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the policy as an important step towards strengthening ethical standards within the company.
Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on what the company achieved but also on the manner in which it conducted its operations.
He urged members of staff to familiarise themselves with the policy and apply its provisions in their day-to-day decisions and responsibilities.
According to him, the policy goes beyond preventing corruption, as it is also intended to promote a workplace culture built around honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism.
The TCN chief executive commended the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit and other stakeholders who contributed to the development of the document, while calling on staff to support its effective implementation.
Earlier, the Chairman of ACTU, TCN, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling represented more than the presentation of a policy document.
She described it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of TCN management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability within the organisation.
Benibo noted that corruption can weaken institutions, undermine public trust and lead to the waste of valuable resources.
She stressed that tackling corrupt practices requires the commitment and cooperation of every member of staff.
Presenting an overview of the policy, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) representative and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, said the document would help shape staff conduct, guide decision-making and strengthen institutional systems.
She explained that the policy provides guidance on the prevention, detection, reporting and response to unethical and corrupt practices within TCN.
The event culminated in the formal unveiling of the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s Anti-Corruption Policy Document.
