The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise at its 132/33kV Kukwaba Transmission Substation in Abuja.
The maintenance is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
According to TCN, its maintenance team will use the exercise to replace a faulty line circuit breaker on the 33kV L36 feeder connected to one of the substation’s 60MVA 132/33kV power transformers.
The planned work will affect power supply to several areas in Abuja.
TCN said the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to take off power for onward distribution to customers in Idu Railway Station, Idu Industrial Zone, CITEC Estate and parts of Lifecamp during the maintenance period.
Customers connected through the Wuye 1 and Wuye 2 Injection Substations will also be affected by the planned outage.
The transmission company said the maintenance is necessary to replace the faulty equipment and ensure the reliability of the transmission system.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the temporary outage may cause.
The notice was signed by the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria on September 21, 2026.
