The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has been recognised as one of Nigeria’s top-performing federal government agencies after securing second place in the 2025 Website Performance Assessment conducted by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR).
The recognition was announced during the 2025 Nigeria Public Service Lecture Series and Awards, an annual event held to commemorate the United Nations Public Service Day.
Speaking at the event, officials noted that the assessment reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and open governance across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). They added that the evaluation aligns with established public service standards aimed at improving service delivery and institutional performance.
According to the organisers, the annual programme begins with a public lecture and concludes with an award ceremony, serving as a platform to recognise MDAs that have demonstrated outstanding implementation of reforms and excellence in public service delivery.
Unlike previous editions, the 2025 assessment adopted a broader evaluation framework. In addition to measuring the performance of official government websites, agencies were assessed on several key indicators, including Service Assessment Tool (SAT) performance, Freedom of Information (FOI) compliance, Fiscal Transparency and the Integrity Index.
The NCC’s strong performance across these indicators earned it the position of the second-best-performing federal government agency in this year’s rankings, reinforcing its commitment to digital governance, institutional transparency and quality public service.
The statement was signed by Mrs. Nnenna Ukoha, Director of Public Affairs, on June 28, 2026.
