2027 Politics: Group Backs Tinubu, Blasts Opposition Over ‘No Vision, No Alternatives’

A pro-government group, The Democratic Front (TDF), has backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s assessment of Nigeria’s opposition parties, describing them as lacking vision and clear policy direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad, and Secretary, Chief Wale Adedayo, the group said the opposition has consistently failed to present workable alternatives to government policies while relying on criticism without substance.

TDF accused opposition leaders of exaggerating Nigeria’s economic and political challenges through what it described as “fabricated or non-existent data” to support misleading narratives.

According to the group, the opposition has been unable to offer credible solutions to economic reforms, particularly in comparing pre-subsidy removal indicators with the current post-reform economy under the Tinubu administration.

The statement further alleged that some opposition figures have engaged in false claims, including accusations that the government is attempting to turn Nigeria into a one-party state by destabilising opposition structures.

TDF dismissed the allegation as “laughable,” insisting that such claims do not reflect reality. It also referenced historical political developments involving former Senate President David Mark, alleging past actions that affected party registrations during his tenure.

The group also criticised the opposition coalition involving Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, describing its collapse as evidence of internal contradictions and what it called “cognitive dissonance” within the opposition ranks.

TDF urged Nigerians to disregard opposition narratives and instead support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
