n a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government described the incident as tragic and deeply troubling.Nigeria extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late minister, the Malian Armed Forces, and the government and people of Mali, noting that the loss comes at a critical time in the country’s history.

The statement highlighted the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and Mali, rooted in shared values of brotherhood, resilience, and African unity, while reaffirming Nigeria’s solidarity with Mali during this difficult period.

The Federal Government also condemned the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Mali, which have resulted in significant loss of lives and destruction of property, warning that such acts threaten national stability and social cohesion.
