📍Abuja | Media360Impact Report
In a strong call for national responsibility, Court of Appeal Justice, Honourable Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike (JCA), has urged Nigerians to take collective ownership of road safety, stressing that saving lives on the nation’s highways requires active citizen participation.

Speaking during her investiture as an Honorary Special Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abuja, Justice Nyesom-Wike challenged citizens to move beyond passive concern and become actively involved in promoting safer road practices.

She emphasised that reducing road crashes in Nigeria demands vigilance, discipline, and a sustained commitment from all road users.
The ceremony, held under the Federal Capital Territory Sector Command, was presided over by Zonal Commanding Officer RS7HQ, ACM Comfort Asom, who represented the Corps Marshal. She highlighted the vital role of Special Marshals as frontline advocates of road safety, urging them to uphold integrity, patriotism, and dedication to service.

Also present at the event was the National Coordinator of Special Marshals, Engr. Dr. Usman Adaji, alongside several Justices of the Court of Appeal, adding institutional significance to the occasion.

In his remarks, the FCT Sector Commander, Corps Commander Tijani Iliyasu, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to expanding public engagement and strengthening road safety awareness across Abuja.

He noted that the enlistment of influential figures like Justice Nyesom-Wike would enhance advocacy efforts and help drive behavioral change among road users.

In her acceptance speech, Justice Nyesom-Wike cautioned against reckless driving and other dangerous road behaviours, calling for a nationwide shift towards responsible road use to curb avoidable accidents.
