šŸ“Abuja | Media Report.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recorded a significant safety milestone with zero road traffic crashes involving articulated vehicles along the Kugbo outbound corridor since the launch of its enforcement initiative, Operation Safe Kugbo.

The operation, which commenced on March 18, 2026, has led to the restriction of 858 articulated vehicles and trucks from operating along the corridor during peak traffic hours.

According to the Corps, the success of the initiative is anchored on strict enforcement of traffic regulations, particularly provisions of the National Road Traffic Regulations (NRTR) and the FCT Traffic Regulations. The initiative is also aligned with the Corps’ 2026 Corporate Strategic Goal 1, which focuses on reducing road traffic crashes and improving safety outcomes across the country.

At the operational level, the Unit Commander of RS7.13 Nyanya, CRC WF Luka, has been leading enforcement efforts through coordinated patrols, strategic deployment of personnel, and real-time traffic management along the busy corridor.

The FRSC noted that the zero-crash record achieved so far highlights the effectiveness of restricting heavy-duty vehicles during peak periods, a move aimed at minimizing congestion and preventing accidents.

The Corps further assured that the operation remains ongoing, with intensified monitoring and enforcement measures to sustain the progress recorded.Motorists, fleet operators, and truck drivers have been urged to comply fully with the restriction order, as the agency reiterates its commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring safer roads within the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
