The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has extended its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom to October 30, 2026, following sustained demand from Nigerians living in the country.
The extension, approved following a directive from the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, will run from October 6 to October 30, 2026.
The NIS urged Nigerian communities across the UK to take advantage of the additional period to renew their passports and attend the intervention exercise at designated centres.
The centres currently listed are:
- London: 56–57 Fleet St, Temple, London EC4Y 1JU
- Manchester: Nigerian House, 23 Platt Ln, Manchester M14 5NE
- Aberdeen: Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen, AB24 4NR
- Cardiff: Venue to be announced
The Immigration Service said the venue for the Cardiff centre would be announced in a subsequent public notice.
Applicants are advised to monitor the Nigeria High Commission’s website and official NIS communication channels for updates.
Those seeking to participate in the intervention exercise are required to book appointments through the designated online platform or via the Nigeria High Commission’s website.
Applicants are expected to strictly adhere to their scheduled dates and times to ensure an orderly process and reduce delays.
The NIS also reminded Nigerians that its Contactless Passport Application System remains operational, allowing eligible applicants to renew their passports without visiting a Nigerian embassy, high commission or consulate.
Documents Required
Applicants attending the intervention exercise are required to present:
- Completed application form
- Payment slip as proof of payment
- Intervention Appointment Print Out
- Self-addressed return envelope
- Current passport, for renewal applications
The NIS stressed that cash payments will not be accepted at the intervention centres.
