The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has been commended for demonstrating leadership, compassion and solidarity by mobilising ₦5 million in support of the children of the late Chairman, Comrade Patrick Osadebamwem.
The gesture has been described as a remarkable demonstration of the spirit of brotherhood and collective responsibility within the NUJ FCT Council.
The commendation followed the successful raising of the funds to support the children of the late journalist and former NUJ FCT Chairman, Patrick Osadebamwem.

Those who applauded the initiative said it underscored the importance of standing by members and their families, particularly during difficult moments of bereavement and need.
The gesture was also seen as evidence that the NUJ FCT Council, under the leadership of Grace Ike, remains committed to promoting unity, compassion and support among its members.
Appreciation was extended to Comrade Grace Ike for taking the initiative, as well as to all comrades who contributed towards the fundraising effort.
The gesture, according to the commendation, reflects the principle that the journalism community should remain a family that stands together and supports its members in times of need.
Prayers were also offered for the late Patrick Osadebamwem and his family, with wishes that God would continue to strengthen and replenish everyone who contributed to the noble cause.
