The forum, organised by Business Remarks, is scheduled to hold on September 16, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State. It will bring together policymakers, telecommunications operators, infrastructure providers, investors, technology experts and other stakeholders to discuss the future of Nigeria’s digital infrastructure.

With the theme, “Rethinking Nigeria’s Digital Infrastructure Strategy to Attract Investment and Drive Innovation,” the event will focus on strategies to strengthen digital infrastructure, expand broadband connectivity, promote digital inclusion and attract investments that will accelerate innovation and economic growth.

Over the years, the Telecom Sector Sustainability Forum has become one of Nigeria’s leading platforms for dialogue on the future of the telecommunications industry. The annual gathering promotes collaboration between regulators and industry players while encouraging policy reforms that support sustainable sector growth.

Previous editions have addressed critical industry issues, including broadband expansion, infrastructure financing, human capital development, the sustainability of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), emerging technologies and regulatory reforms.

According to the organisers, this year’s edition comes at a critical time as Nigeria seeks to deepen 5G and 4G penetration, expand fibre-optic infrastructure and strengthen digital connectivity despite prevailing economic challenges.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Convener of TSSF 7.0, Bukola Olanrewaju, disclosed that investment in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector reached approximately $75.6 billion as of 2025.

She added that operators are expected to invest more than $1.38 billion in network capacity upgrades in 2026 to improve infrastructure resilience, expand coverage and enhance the quality of service for millions of subscribers nationwide.

Olanrewaju noted that increasing demand for digital services, alongside investments in fibre networks, subsea cables, data centres, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity, makes stronger collaboration between government and the private sector essential for sustaining Nigeria’s digital transformation.

She expressed confidence that TSSF 7.0 will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to develop practical solutions and policy recommendations that will strengthen Nigeria’s telecommunications ecosystem and position the country as a leading digital economy in Africa.
