📍Abuja | Media360Impact Report
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major operational breakthrough following a precision airstrike on a terrorist enclave in Kangarwa, located in the Northern Tumbuns area of Borno State.

The strike, carried out on April 1, 2026, at about 12:05 pm, targeted insurgent elements believed to be affiliated with ISWAP. The operation was executed by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, based on credible intelligence and reinforced by prior Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the mission followed confirmed reports of terrorist gatherings and sustained hostile activities within the enclave.

He disclosed that several fighters were observed moving between structures and concealed positions before the airstrike. Upon confirmation of targets, NAF air assets carried out multiple strike runs, delivering precision fire on identified locations.

The bombardment led to the destruction of key infrastructure, including logistics hubs, while scores of fighters were neutralised. The enclave was left significantly degraded, weakening its operational capacity.

Ejodame added that the operation has disrupted terrorist movement in the area and created an enabling environment for ground troops to advance, consolidate gains, and sustain clearance operations.

Military sources assess that the strike dealt a major blow to ISWAP’s command and support structures in the region, further reinforcing ongoing counterinsurgency efforts.

Reacting to the development, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to sustained, intelligence-driven operations in coordination with ground forces until all terrorist enclaves are dismantled and national security is fully restored.
