The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sustained its offensive against terrorist elements in Borno State, carrying out precision follow-up air strikes on identified targets within the Jilli axis.

The operation, conducted on April 11, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, was part of an ongoing coordinated air-ground mission with the Nigerian Army. It followed an earlier successful engagement that had already weakened terrorist positions in the area.

According to a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the latest strikes specifically targeted fleeing insurgents and regrouping cells attempting to exploit the difficult terrain after the initial assault.

He noted that the mission was driven by credible intelligence gathered through close collaboration with relevant stakeholders and validated by operational command structures.

The strikes come amid intensified military efforts to track down and neutralise terrorist elements responsible for recent attacks on security personnel across the North-East region.
The Nigerian Air Force said the sustained pressure through immediate mop-up operations has significantly disrupted the movement of terrorists, limiting their ability to launch further attacks on both military positions and civilian communities.

Ejodame подчеркed that the success of the operation underscores the growing effectiveness of intelligence-led, joint force operations in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.

He reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to maintaining persistent surveillance, executing precision strikes, and supporting ground troops to restore peace and stability across Borno State and the wider North-East theatre.

The military also reassured citizens of its resolve to protect lives and property while advancing national security objectives.
