Moses Simon marked a major milestone in his Nigeria career on Saturday after earning his 100th international cap as the Super Eagles defeated Madagascar 2-1.
The Nigerian winger was celebrated by his teammates and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after reaching the century mark in appearances for the national team.
Simon, who has been an important part of the Super Eagles setup for several years, became the latest Nigerian player to reach 100 international appearances.
His landmark appearance came as Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory over Madagascar, with youngsters George Ilenikhena and Chijioke? Usor making their Super Eagles debuts.
Ilenikhena and Usor both made an impression as Nigeria continued its preparations and competitive campaign with a victory over the Malagasy side.
The result also provided an opportunity for the national team to introduce new faces while celebrating one of its more experienced players.
For Simon, the occasion added another significant chapter to his international career as he received recognition from his Super Eagles teammates following the match.
The 100-cap achievement places Simon among a select group of Nigerian footballers to have represented the country at senior international level on at least 100 occasions.
