The Federal High Court in Lagos has remanded luxury goods dealer and lifestyle influencer Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, and two other defendants in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over an alleged 184.5kg cocaine shipment destined for the United Kingdom.
Michael was arraigned alongside Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch on Friday, September 25, 2026, before Justice Ayokunle Olayinka Faji on a 22-count charge involving alleged cocaine trafficking, illegal export of narcotics and money laundering.
The three defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
According to the NDLEA, the defendants allegedly conspired between July 28 and August 1, 2026, to export 184.5kg of cocaine concealed in five consignments through a courier logistics company in Lagos.
The consignments, allegedly bearing five different Airway Bill numbers, were reportedly destined for London, United Kingdom, under the shipper’s name, Yemi Ejide.

The agency alleged that Sule procured Ekugo to facilitate the shipment, while Michael allegedly arranged for a staff member of BOT Express Logistics in Lagos to process the consignments.
The charge sheet also alleges that Michael unlawfully possessed the cocaine before its intended export and that ₦13.2 million was paid from a Mallamawa Ventures Zenith Bank account to BOT Express Logistics in connection with the shipment.
Alleged money laundering charges
Sixteen of the 22 counts reportedly relate to alleged money laundering involving several companies and personal accounts.
The NDLEA alleged that Michael moved several billions of naira through entities including Mallamawa Ventures, Fateey Man Multi-Purpose Nig. Ltd, Patonifa Ltd, Ade-Lak Resources, Holmestas Global Services Limited and La Capital Enterprises.
The agency further alleged that some of the funds were used to acquire vehicles and landed properties as part of efforts to conceal the alleged proceeds of illicit activities.
Michael was also accused of failing to declare his assets to the agency as required by law.
How KC Luxury was arrested
Michael was arrested by NDLEA operatives on August 13, 2026, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after the agency intercepted the alleged cocaine shipment.
The NDLEA said he was attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris, France, when he was arrested.
A subsequent search of his person and his Banana Island residence allegedly led to the recovery of exotic vehicles, foreign currency and jewellery, which the agency said were believed to be proceeds of illicit drug activities.
The 184.5kg cocaine shipment was previously estimated by the NDLEA to have a potential value of about ₦39 billion.
Court orders remand
During Friday’s proceedings, NDLEA prosecutor Abu Ibrahim opposed the defendants’ bail applications and urged the court to remand them in custody, citing the seriousness of the allegations.
Justice Faji subsequently ordered that the defendants be remanded in the custody of the NDLEA.
The court adjourned the matter to October 4, 2026, for ruling on the bail application, according to the NDLEA’s account of the proceedings.
The case is filed as FHC/LAG/CR/755/2026.
The allegations are contained in the charge filed by the NDLEA, and the defendants remain entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a court.
