The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced with deep sorrow the death of Ambassador Beatrice Uwani Danladi, a senior Nigerian diplomat, who passed away on Friday, 29th May 2026, following a prolonged illness.
Until her death, Ambassador Danladi served as Director of the Southern African Affairs Division at the Ministry, where she was widely regarded for her professionalism, dedication, and quiet strength in service.
Born in Kaduna in 1974, she obtained a degree in Political Science from the University of Abuja and joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in 2001. Over the course of her career, she built a reputation as a committed and detail-oriented diplomat.

In 2023, she was appointed Ambassador-in-situ by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She also served in various Nigerian diplomatic missions, including Cairo in Egypt, London in the United Kingdom, and Madrid in Spain. She was a Fellow of the National Defence College, Abuja.
The Ministry described her as a loyal and unassuming officer whose contributions earned the respect of colleagues within and outside the Foreign Service. Her death, it said, represents a significant loss to Nigeria’s diplomatic community.
The Ministry extended condolences to her immediate family, friends, colleagues, associates, and the Government of Taraba State, praying for the peaceful repose of her soul and strength for those she left behind.
The statement was signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.
