The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of the Aiye Confraternity and recovered a locally made pistol and a 9mm live ammunition during an intelligence-led operation in Mushin.
The operation was conducted by operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) following intelligence on the activities of suspected cult groups operating in Mushin and other parts of Lagos State.
The Command said one of the suspects, identified as Irawo Moshod, was arrested during the operation and allegedly admitted to being a former chairman of the Aiye Confraternity.
According to the Police, Moshod provided investigators with information about the activities of the group, including alleged involvement in killings within Mushin and other areas of Lagos State.
Acting on the information, VCRU operatives proceeded to the Idi-Oro area of Mushin, where they recovered one locally made Beretta pistol and a 9mm live ammunition.
