The Labour Party has officially released its timetable, schedule of activities and nomination fees for the conduct of its 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party said the timetable aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act 2026 and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) schedule for the 2027 elections.
According to the timetable, the sale of nomination forms for all elective offices will begin on May 6, 2026 and end on May 16, 2026, while submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 17 and 18.
The party fixed May 20 for the screening of House of Assembly and governorship aspirants, while National Assembly and presidential aspirants will be screened on May 22.Publication of screening results is scheduled for May 23, while appeals and petitions will hold between May 24 and 25.

The final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 26.Labour Party primaries for governorship and state assembly positions will take place on May 27, while National Assembly and presidential primaries are slated for May 29, 2026.The party also announced the cost of nomination forms for various offices.
Governorship aspirants are expected to pay ₦25 million, while the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms were fixed at ₦50 million.Senatorial aspirants will pay ₦10 million, House of Representatives aspirants ₦5 million, while House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦3 million.
The party, however, approved concessions for women, youths between ages 25 and 30, and persons living with disabilities, stating that aspirants in those categories will only pay for the expression of interest forms across all positions.The statement further noted that Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, would receive the party’s governorship nomination form free of charge.
The Labour Party also urged prospective aspirants yet to register as members to take advantage of its ongoing electronic membership registration before the deadline for submission of the membership register to INEC.
