Abuja, Nigeria — The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, has been honoured by the Northern Youth Organisation of Nigeria (NYON) for his outstanding contributions to national development, youth empowerment, and strategic public communication.

The award was presented during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the organisation to the Ministry in Abuja on Friday, April 17, 2026. It recognises Mr. Ebienfa’s consistent advocacy for national unity, inclusiveness, and youth engagement across Nigeria.

According to the organisation, the recognition followed a rigorous nomination process that featured notable Nigerians who have demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to the country.

Speaking during the presentation, the President of the organisation, Mr. Isah Ododo, commended Mr. Ebienfa for his role in bridging ethnic and religious divides. He also praised his dedication to promoting transparency and effective communication within the public sector.

Describing him as a role model for young Nigerians, Ododo noted that the Foreign Affairs spokesperson represents integrity, professionalism, and excellence in government service.

The Northern Youth Organisation of Nigeria, which draws its membership from the 19 Northern states, reaffirmed its commitment to tackling critical national challenges, including insecurity, drug abuse, and inadequate investment in education, through sustained advocacy and collaboration with stakeholders.

In his response, Mr. Ebienfa expressed appreciation for the honour, describing it as a motivation to continue serving the nation with dedication.

He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to leveraging the potential of Nigeria’s youth in line with the country’s foreign policy objectives and broader development goals. He also pledged to continue fostering partnerships that promote national unity, youth development, and effective public engagement.
