The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has appointed Ohaeri Osondu Joseph as its new Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), in a move aimed at strengthening public engagement and road safety advocacy across Nigeria.

The appointment reflects the Corps’ renewed commitment to improving communication, enhancing public awareness, and promoting safer road use nationwide.

Ohaeri brings over 20 years of experience in communications, operations, and administration within the FRSC. He previously served as Media Relations Officer at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja, where he played a key role in shaping the organisation’s public image.

He has also held several operational leadership roles, including Unit Head of Operations in Keffi and Bida, as well as Assistant Corps Commander (Operations) in Kaduna. His experience extends to Special Duties and External Relations, where he led partnerships and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the Institute of Corporate Administration, Ohaeri is also an author, with notable work focusing on the role of public enlightenment in reducing road crashes in Nigeria.

Beyond his work with the FRSC, he has contributed to national and community initiatives, including serving as Public Relations Officer of the Methodist Archdiocese of Abuja.

Until his new appointment, he served as Deputy Corps Commander in charge of administration and human resources at the FRSC headquarters, where he contributed to institutional reforms.

His career is marked by several recognitions, including the Best Unit Commander Award (2022) and multiple leadership honours.

The FRSC expressed confidence that his experience and leadership will enhance public enlightenment campaigns, strengthen stakeholder confidence, and support efforts to reduce road traffic crashes across the country.
