ABUJA — The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye, Founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission, describing him as a devoted servant of God whose life was marked by unwavering commitment to the Church and national development.

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the association extended condolences to the late cleric’s wife, Rev. Mrs. Toyin Okoye, his children, members of All Christians Fellowship Mission, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and the wider Christian community.

CAN said Rev. Okoye dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel, mentoring Christian leaders and promoting unity within the Church.

According to the association, his contributions extended beyond his ministry as he served in several key leadership positions, including Chairman of CAN, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), FCT Chapter, and later CAN National Director on National Issues and Social Welfare.

The association noted that through these positions, Rev. Okoye played a significant role in strengthening the Christian faith and encouraging constructive engagement on issues affecting both the Church and society.

Beyond ecclesiastical service, CAN said the late cleric also contributed to national development through appointments on the Presidential Advisory Council on Youth Affairs, the National Political Reform Conference, and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission.

He also served as Chaplain to two Presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and headed the Aso Rock Villa Chapel.

Reflecting on his personal relationship with the late minister, Archbishop Okoh described Rev. Okoye as a humble and wise leader who carried every responsibility entrusted to him with grace and dedication.

“He was deeply committed to the unity of the Church and was always willing to lend his voice and experience whenever called upon. His counsel, calm disposition, and passion for advancing God’s Kingdom will be greatly missed,” the CAN President said.

While mourning his passing, CAN thanked God for what it described as a life of faithful service and prayed for divine comfort for his family, the All Christians Fellowship Mission, and all those grieving his death.

The association also prayed that God would grant the late cleric eternal rest and strengthen everyone affected by the loss.
