The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at improving regulatory transparency and accelerating economic growth in Nigeria.

This resolution was reached during a courtesy visit by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, to the Registrar-General and CEO of the CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, in Abuja.

During the meeting, Maida commended the CAC for its strides in digital transformation, describing its progress as a model worth emulating. He noted that the NCC is keen to leverage CAC’s experience, particularly in enhancing its licensing processes and operational efficiency.

The NCC boss also stressed the need for strict compliance with provisions of the Nigerian Communications Act, especially in relation to ownership structures and shareholding transparency among licensed operators.

He added that closer collaboration between both agencies would significantly improve regulatory oversight and accountability.

In his response, Magaji подчеркed that both institutions share a common mandate of promoting economic growth while ensuring compliance within their respective sectors. He highlighted the CAC’s ongoing partnerships with other regulatory bodies, in line with the Federal Government’s reform agenda.

Magaji further outlined several CAC digital products and services that the NCC could integrate into its systems to improve efficiency. He reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to support the NCC, noting that enhanced cooperation between the two agencies would strengthen Nigeria’s business environment and contribute to sustainable national development.
