📍Abuja, Nigeria
Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has condemned the continued killings across Nigeria, describing the situation as evidence of a serious failure of leadership and governance.

In a statement, Adeyanju expressed deep concern over the persistent violence in Plateau State and other parts of the country, noting that repeated attacks on citizens with no clear resolution have created widespread fear and uncertainty.

He argued that the inability of authorities to effectively address the crisis is giving the impression that the country lacks functional governance, a development he said is damaging Nigeria’s image both locally and internationally.

Adeyanju further warned that rising insecurity is undermining public confidence and negatively impacting the nation’s global perception, stressing that no issue demarkets a country more than unchecked violence and instability.

He called on the Federal Government to take urgent, coordinated, and visible action to tackle insecurity, emphasizing the need to reassure Nigerians that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority.

The activist maintained that without decisive intervention, the continued loss of lives could further deepen public frustration and weaken trust in government institutions.
