The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has dealt a major blow to террорист elements operating in the Northern Tumbuns, following a precision airstrike on Kangarwa settlement.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was carried out on April 1, 2026, based on credible intelligence supported by prior Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
According to the statement, ISR activities confirmed a significant تجمع of insurgents and sustained hostile operations within the area, prompting the air interdiction mission.
NAF air assets, after positive target identification, executed multiple strike passes using precision-guided munitions, destroying key террорист infrastructure including logistics hubs and fortified positions.
Military sources indicated that the operation neutralised several fighters and significantly weakened the operational capacity of the террорист enclave, disrupting movement, coordination, and supply chains.
The strike is also expected to pave the way for ground forces to advance and conduct clearance operations, consolidating gains recorded in the region.
The террорист group affected is believed to be linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province, a faction known for insurgent activities in Nigeria’s North-East.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended troops for sustaining operational momentum, reaffirming the Air Force’s commitment to intelligence-driven operations in collaboration with ground forces.
He stressed that military efforts would continue until all insurgent strongholds are dismantled and lasting peace is restored across the theatre of operations.
The latest operation highlights the growing synergy between air and ground forces under Operation HADIN KAI, as the Nigerian military intensifies efforts to eliminate insurgency in the region.
