Abuja, Nigeria — Nigeria is set to host the 8th Nigeria–European Union (EU) Ministerial Dialogue on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tafawa Balewa House, Abuja.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will lead the Nigerian delegation, while the European Union team will be headed by Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.

The statement reads: As part of her official visit, Kallas is expected to arrive in Abuja on Sunday and will hold a bilateral meeting with Tuggar to review Nigeria–EU relations and explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration across critical sectors.

She is also scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as part of efforts to deepen diplomatic engagement between both parties.
Following the ministerial dialogue, both leaders will address the media in a joint press briefing to highlight key outcomes and areas of strengthened cooperation.
The dialogue is expected to focus on strategic areas including trade and investment, security cooperation, governance, migration, climate action, and sustainable development, reinforcing the growing partnership between Nigeria and the European Union.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations with the EU, expressing optimism for a productive and forward-looking engagement.
