Abuja is set to host the unveiling of a landmark legal publication on renewable energy as Nigeria accelerates its transition to sustainable power. Assistant Professor Bitrus Joseph Bulama of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) School of Law will launch his new book, Renewable Energy: Law and Policy in Nigeria, a Crosscutting Perspective, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the NBA House, Nigeria Bar Association Headquarters, Abuja.

The event is expected to draw an audience of political and legal heavyweights, underscoring the critical relevance of the book in navigating Nigeria’s energy landscape.

The publication will be officially presented by former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and former Lagos State Governor and Minister of Power, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, highlighting the significance of the book for national policy, legal frameworks, and energy sector development.

A Call for National Integration
Ahead of the launch, Idehai Frederick, Chairman of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Nigeria and Senior Editor at Channel Network Afrique (CNA News), described the book as a “landmark endeavor” for the sector.

“This is a meticulously researched work that arrives at a pivotal moment in our national development,” Frederick said. “We urge the Federal Government, the diplomatic community, and international policymakers to support this publication and actively adopt its insights for Nigeria’s energy sector.”

He further advocated for the book’s inclusion in academic curricula, noting that it bridges the gap between legal theory and practical energy policy. “It is essential that our researchers and future legal minds have access to such crosscutting perspectives to drive innovation and sustainability,” Frederick added.

Global Relevance
Prof. Bulama, based in Yola, explores the intersection of law, policy, and practical implementation, offering a roadmap for stakeholders in a country with immense yet underutilized renewable energy potential.
Media organizations have been encouraged to promote the book widely, with Frederick emphasizing that its insights serve the national and global interest in advancing sustainable energy and policy innovation.

The launch is expected to set the stage for robust discussions on legal frameworks, policy reforms, and renewable energy development in Nigeria, positioning the country to better harness its abundant renewable resources.
