The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to international capacity building as three of its officers successfully graduated from the Abu Dhabi Police College in the United Arab Emirates.

The IGP, who was represented at the ceremony by the Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Lagos Annex, CP Bode Ojajuni, said the development reflects the Force’s sustained drive to align with global best practices in law enforcement and enhance operational effectiveness through strategic international partnerships.

This was contained in a statement signed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja
January 30, 2026.

The statement reads, the officers DSP Abdullah Yusuf, ASP Faith Asigidi, and Inspector Noah Joseph all attached to the INTERPOL Bureau of the Nigeria Police Force, were among 52 officers drawn from 44 police agencies across 35 countries who participated in the four-month basic academy training programme.

The training was organised under the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the UAE Ministry of Interior Police Academy Exchange Programme, a collaborative initiative designed to promote knowledge sharing, professional development, and global policing standards.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, alongside senior Emirati government officials, police representatives, and dignitaries from participating countries.

The Nigeria Police Force noted that participation in such international programmes underscores its resolve to continually expose its personnel to global best practices, foster cross-border cooperation, and strengthen its capacity to address evolving security challenges.
