The atmosphere was charged with inspiration and purpose at the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Network of Independent Ladies and Women Voters (NILOWV), where Hon. Loveth Izekor, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for City Centre Ward, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), made a powerful appeal for women’s unity and participation in governance.

Speaking during an interview with Media360Impact, Hon. Izekor the only female candidate contesting for councillorship in the City Centre Ward expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to engage with women voters and leaders from across Nigeria.

“I am truly honored to be here with the women of NILOWV a movement that embodies the strength and voice of female voters nationwide,” she said. “Women have consistently shown commitment and passion during elections, often staying to the very end of the process. With their support, I believe we can make history together in the City Centre Ward.”

Hon. Izekor emphasized that women’s involvement in leadership goes beyond politics it transforms families, communities, and society at large.

“When a woman leads, everyone benefits the children, husbands, and community as a whole,” she noted. “Women are the bridge between the present and the future. We are the ones who nurture, organize, and sustain development.”

She explained that her aspiration to become councillor stems from a deep connection with her community and a passion to serve at the grassroots level.

“I’ve lived and worked among my people for years. I understand our challenges and dreams. My goal is to make governance closer, more inclusive, and people-centered,” she stated. “That’s why I’m calling on every woman, regardless of political affiliation, to join hands with me. Let’s make a difference together.”

Hon. Izekor’s political ward spans strategic areas in Abuja, including Area 1, Area 2, Area 3, Area 7, Area 8, Area 10, Area 11, and surrounding districts such as Asokoro and Garki. She pledged to prioritize community empowerment, youth inclusion, and women’s economic participation if elected.

She also expressed interest in officially joining NILOWV, acknowledging the association’s role in empowering women to become active players in Nigeria’s democratic process.

“NILOWV represents what we stand for unity, participation, and empowerment. I’m proud to associate with them, and I look forward to working with women across all polling units to advance our shared vision,” she said.

As the 2025 local government elections draw closer, Hon. Izekor’s message resonates strongly: it’s time for women to take their rightful place in leadership.

“Power belongs to God, and He gives it through the people. With your votes and prayers, I will serve with integrity, compassion, and dedication,” she concluded.
