Washington, D.C. – Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has officially announced the formation of a new political party in the United States, named the “America Party,” aimed at disrupting the country’s entrenched two-party system.
In a statement shared on his social media platform, X, Musk declared that the America Party was created to fight what he described as a failing political structure plagued by bipartisan waste and systemic corruption.
“America is being bankrupted by bipartisan waste and corruption. This is not democracy it’s a one-party system in disguise,” Musk said. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”
The announcement follows a poll Musk conducted on X, where he asked users whether they supported “independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system.” The poll attracted over 1.2 million responses, with approximately 66% in favor of a new political alternative.
The creation of the America Party signals a dramatic pivot in Musk’s political posture. Once a notable supporter and donor to former President Donald Trump, Musk has recently voiced strong opposition to Trump’s latest tax-cut and spending package, citing its contribution to the ballooning national debt.
While the full impact of the America Party on upcoming U.S. elections remains to be seen, the move has already stirred nationwide debate about the viability and future of third-party politics in America. Musk’s entrance into the political arena could significantly reshape voter dynamics, especially among independents and younger voters dissatisfied with the traditional parties.
With a growing base of influence through X and a reputation for defying convention, Elon Musk’s America Party could represent one of the most high-profile third-party experiments in modern U.S. political history.
