
Nigeria has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Senegal as the West African nation marks its Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed best wishes to his Senegalese counterpart, Mrs. Yassine Fall, Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs.
The message, released on April 4, 2025, and signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, celebrated Senegal’s continued journey of sovereignty and development.
“As Senegal marks another year of independence, Nigeria celebrates with you and commends the enduring spirit of resilience, unity, and democratic values that define the Senegalese people,” the statement read.
It highlighted the enduring bilateral relations between both countries, underscoring their shared history, cultural ties, and collaboration across key sectors including trade, education, and security.
“Nigeria remains committed to strengthening cooperation with Senegal, particularly within the frameworks of ECOWAS and the African Union,” the statement continued. “We applaud Senegal’s contributions to peace, security, and development across the continent and look forward to even greater achievements in the years to come.”
Concluding the message, Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed Nigeria’s steadfast solidarity and commitment to advancing mutual prosperity between the two nations.
