In a bid to rally massive support for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has purchased 30,000 tickets for fans ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Zimbabwe’s Warriors. The highly anticipated clash is set to take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Distribution of the complimentary tickets began at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 24, across several designated centers, including all radio stations, De Venus Bar and Restaurant on Stadium Road, Uyo Township Stadium, the Plaza Management Committee Office at Ibom Plaza, and previous sales agents and centers.
Fans are advised that the tickets are entirely free and should not be purchased from unauthorized sources. Only those with valid tickets will be granted entry, as no ticket distribution will take place at the stadium on match day. Organizers urge attendees to remain orderly, adhere to seating arrangements, and comply with all directives. Security agencies will be on hand to ensure strict adherence to FIFA, CAF, and NFF regulations governing international matches.
Governor Eno’s initiative is aimed at boosting support for the Super Eagles as they push for World Cup qualification. The gesture also highlights his commitment to sports development and fostering unity among the people of Akwa Ibom State.
