The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has won the Public Information Campaign of the Year Award at the 2026 Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Special Recognition Awards.
The award ceremony took place on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Balmoral Event Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together public and private sector organisations, advertising professionals and other stakeholders in Nigeria’s advertising and marketing communications industry.
The recognition acknowledges NOA’s contributions to public enlightenment, civic education, strategic communication and the dissemination of government policies and programmes to Nigerians.
The agency’s Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Communication and Media, Bala Musa, who received the award on his behalf.
Reacting to the recognition, Issa-Onilu described the award as an endorsement of the agency’s commitment to innovative public communication, national value reorientation and citizen engagement.
He said effective public information campaigns were essential to national development, building public trust, promoting responsible citizenship and bridging the communication gap between government and citizens.

The Director-General also reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to improving public understanding of government policies, promoting the National Values Charter, strengthening national unity and encouraging positive behavioural change.
He dedicated the award to NOA’s management and staff nationwide, particularly personnel working at the grassroots, whose efforts continue to expand the agency’s reach and impact.
Issa-Onilu commended ARCON for recognising the importance of public sector communication in national development. He added that the award would encourage the agency to adopt more innovative, inclusive and citizen-centred communication strategies.
According to the agency, NOA will continue to leverage its nationwide operational structure, traditional and digital media platforms, and strategic partnerships to promote informed citizenship, national cohesion and sustainable behavioural change.
The recognition marks another milestone in the agency’s efforts to strengthen public orientation and make public information campaigns more effective across different segments of Nigerian society.
