President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved an additional 18 months in office for the heads of the Nigerian Correctional Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service.
The extension affects Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, and Kemi Nanna Nandap, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

According to a statement by the President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Nwakuche’s tenure will now end on May 26, 2028, while Nandap is expected to remain in office until June 30, 2028.
The approval extends the service chiefs’ time in office beyond their previously scheduled tenure periods.
However, the statement did not provide further details on the reasons for the extensions.
