Portugal coach Jorge Jesus has left the door open for Cristiano Ronaldo to return to the national team, saying the veteran forward will be welcomed back if he decides to continue his international career.
Jesus made the statement after Portugal defeated Norway 2-1 on Sunday to become the first team to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League.
Portugal came from behind after Kristoffer Ajer put Norway ahead with a spectacular effort from outside the box. Joao Cancelo restored parity before Goncalo Ramos completed the comeback with a late winner in the 86th minute.
Ronaldo was absent from the match after leaving the national team camp following a disagreement over his selection.

Speaking after the victory, Jesus said the 41-year-old Al-Nassr forward remained eligible for selection and that the final decision would rest with Ronaldo.
