A 22-year-old Nigerian model, Rachel Ojuromi, has taken her modelling career from the streets of Lagos to the international fashion scene after securing representation in four countries.
Ojuromi, popularly known online as @giverachelashot, is now represented by No Smoking NYC in New York, Safe Management in Paris, SUPA Worldwide in London and Next Canada, her mother agency.
The young model has built a growing online following through fashion content created in unconventional settings, often transforming everyday locations across Lagos into backdrops for her modelling work.
Working with stylist Debby Fasingha, Ojuromi has created looks by combining thrifted designer pieces with heels and taking her fashion shoots and walks directly to the streets.
Her approach was partly driven by the need to create despite limited financial resources.
Instead of waiting for expensive studios, professional locations or elaborate production setups, Ojuromi turned her immediate environment into part of her creative process.
That strategy has helped her work attract attention beyond Nigeria, including from Grammy-winning American singer Solána Rowe, popularly known as SZA.
Ojuromi has credited SZA with helping to increase the visibility of her work and exposing her modelling to a wider international audience.
With representation now spanning New York, Paris, London and Canada, the Nigerian model is positioning herself for a bigger career on the global fashion stage.
