The Nigerian Navy has handed over 106 parcels of suspected Cannabis sativa to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) following an intelligence-led operation in the Badagry-Porto Novo Creeks.
The substances were recovered by personnel of the Forward Operating Base (FOB), Badagry, during a targeted patrol conducted based on credible intelligence concerning suspected illicit drug activities in the area.
According to the Navy, no arrests were made during the operation as the suspected traffickers fled after sighting the patrol team.
The recovered substances have since been transferred to the NDLEA for further investigation and necessary action.
The Nigerian Navy reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and other criminal activities within Nigeria’s maritime environment.

The Force also urged members of the public to provide credible and timely information to security agencies to support efforts to tackle illicit activities and improve security across the country’s waterways.
