The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) has joined 20 other federal government agencies in adopting the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and Federal Treasury e-Receipt system as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and revenue monitoring in public finance management.

The development was disclosed following a strategic meeting held in Abuja between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, and chief executives of the affected agencies.

According to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s broader fiscal reform agenda aimed at eliminating financial leakages and improving accountability across government institutions.

The RevOP platform, approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), is designed to monitor and track government revenue collections and expenditures in real time while strengthening transparency in financial operations.

Speaking through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Muhammed Sanusi, the minister explained that 31 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) had already been integrated into the platform, while another 21 agencies, including NEPZA, were being onboarded as part of plans to achieve full financial transparency before the end of the year.

He urged all concerned agencies to adopt the platform promptly, describing the initiative as a major step toward strengthening due process and institutional accountability within government operations.

Reacting to the development, Ogunyemi said NEPZA was fully prepared to comply with the directive, noting that the authority’s existing digital financial structure would allow for seamless integration into the system.

He added that the agency strongly supports the Federal Government’s financial reform agenda and sees the RevOP initiative as a strategic mechanism to promote openness, fiscal discipline and public confidence in government financial management.

Ogunyemi further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to financial transparency, describing the initiative as a critical tool that would help drive the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the platform will not only improve revenue assurance but also strengthen fiscal discipline and reduce opportunities for revenue diversion within public institutions.
