Nigeria’s diplomatic influence has received another boost following the election of Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim as Chairman of the United Nations Budget and Administration Committee.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, hailed the appointment as a reflection of Nigeria’s growing relevance and credibility within international institutions.
The government said the election signals the confidence of the international community in Nigeria’s ability to contribute to the effective running of the United Nations system.

Officials noted that Nigeria has consistently demonstrated commitment to multilateral engagement, international cooperation, transparency, and good governance at the global level.
The Minister expressed confidence that Ambassador Ibrahim would bring his experience and leadership qualities to bear in steering the committee successfully during his tenure.
Nigeria further pledged continued collaboration with the United Nations and member countries in promoting peace, sustainable development, and stronger global partnerships.
