The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has intensified its counter-terrorism operations in Borno State with fresh precision air strikes targeting terrorist enclaves within the Sambisa Forest axis.
According to the NAF, the operation followed credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports which identified terrorist hideouts and support facilities at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
The precision strikes, carried out on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, reportedly neutralised dozens of terrorist fighters and destroyed key operational structures used by insurgents within the area.
The Air Force stated that the coordinated attacks significantly weakened the operational capabilities of the terrorists by destroying logistics bases and strongholds within the Sambisa Forest corridor.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday that the sustained air offensives have continued to create fear, confusion, and disorientation among terrorist groups operating in the region.
According to him, intelligence assessments indicate growing panic within the ranks of the insurgents as continuous bombardments deny them freedom of movement and access to safe havens.
The Nigerian Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining ongoing air operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restoring security across the North-East region.
