As the race for Super Eight spots intensifies, Chairman of the Nigerian National League (NNL), George Aluo, has vowed that only the most deserving clubs will earn promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Reiterating the board’s unwavering commitment to integrity, Aluo emphasized that under his leadership, the league will continue to operate free from external interference and aligned with global best practices.
“Since assuming office, we’ve upheld a strong standard of integrity and fairness,” Aluo stated. “Our goal is to reposition the NNL, and this was evident in the excellent performance of last season’s promoted teams in the NPFL. We are determined to maintain and improve on that standard this season.”
He also expressed appreciation to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, for his ongoing support, noting that the NNL is well on its way to becoming the most professionally run league in the country.
Aluo’s assurances come at a pivotal time in the league’s calendar, as clubs across the country vie for a coveted spot in the Super Eight — the final hurdle to top-flight Nigerian football.
