Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully neutralized several Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents during coordinated operations across Borno State.
In a statement released by the Nigerian Army, the operations, which took place in multiple locations, resulted in the recovery of a cache of arms, ammunition, and materials used in the fabrication of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Acting on credible intelligence, troops swiftly responded to an attempted ambush by insurgents seeking to loot food supplies from a civilian vehicle near Rann, the headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area. During the ensuing confrontation, six terrorists were eliminated, and multiple AK-47 rifles, magazines, and rounds of ammunition were recovered.
A military source confirmed to Yerwa Express News that the operation effectively thwarted the insurgents’ efforts to seize humanitarian supplies meant for vulnerable communities in the region.
In a separate operation, troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Molai, alongside members of the CJTF, executed a successful ambush on a known terrorist crossing point near Komala along the Maiduguri–Damboa road. The strike led to the neutralization of several insurgents—though the exact number remains unconfirmed and the seizure of motorcycles, IED components, and other logistical materials.
The Army reiterated its commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist elements and ensuring the safety of residents in the North-East, while commending the synergy between military forces and local security networks.
These latest victories underscore the ongoing efforts of security forces to degrade insurgent capabilities and restore lasting peace to the region.
