The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has extended warm greetings to Christian faithful across Nigeria as they celebrate Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday.
In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, the IGP reaffirmed the commitment of the police to ensuring a safe and secure environment during the festive period.
As part of the security measures, the IGP directed Commissioners of Police and tactical commanders across all states and the Federal Capital Territory to implement comprehensive security arrangements.

The directives include the deployment of tactical teams, intelligence operatives, the Special Intervention Squad, and conventional officers to worship centres, highways, motor parks, recreational areas, and other critical locations nationwide.
The police leadership also ordered enhanced visibility policing, coordinated patrols, intelligence-led surveillance, and stop-and-search operations to deter criminal activities and ensure swift response to threats.
According to the statement, these proactive measures are aimed at guaranteeing peaceful and hitch-free Easter celebrations across the country.
The IGP also urged members of the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through designated emergency lines.
