Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified counter-terrorism operations in Nigeria’s North-East, neutralising several insurgents and recovering arms and logistics supplies in recent coordinated offensives.

In a statement issued on February 14, 2026, the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) confirmed that the successes were recorded under Operation Desert Sanity V.

According to the military, troops in Sector 2, working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force, carried out a night operation around Muktum and Ngirbuwa villages, where scores of terrorists were neutralised.

Items recovered at the scene included two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles, and multiple mobile phones. Troops conducting further exploitation along the withdrawal route reportedly discovered drag marks and a shallow grave, suggesting additional casualties among the fleeing insurgents.

In a separate operation, troops of Sector 1 engaged terrorists attempting to cross the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis along a Main Supply Route. The insurgents reportedly fled under pressure, abandoning two sacks containing assorted logistics items believed to be intended for terrorist use.

The military described the general security situation across the theatre as “calm but unpredictable,” noting that troops continue to maintain high morale while sustaining pressure on insurgent groups.

Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling the operational capacity of Boko Haram and ISWAP elements operating in the region, assuring residents of continued efforts to restore lasting peace and economic stability across the North-East.

The statement was signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai.
