‎Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) under the RS1.1 Kaduna Sector Command prevented what could have been a major disaster following a lone fuel tanker crash at NEPA Roundabout along Ahmadu Bello Way, Kaduna, in the early hours of Sunday, 8 February 2026.

‎Tbis was contained in a statements signed by  Olusegun Ogungbemide,  Assistant Corps Marshal Corps Public Education Officer Federal Road Safety Corps Headquarters, Abuja on 8th  February 2026

‎At about 7:15 a.m., the Sector Command received a distress alert reporting that a fully loaded tanker had fallen at the location. A rescue team led by Deputy Route Commander I. Gunda was immediately deployed to the scene.

‎On arrival, FRSC operatives swiftly secured the area by cordoning off all access roads to the crash site to prevent secondary accidents and reduce the risk of a fire outbreak. Traffic was promptly diverted to alternative routes to ease congestion and maintain order within the metropolis.

‎Personnel of the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Police Force joined efforts with the FRSC to safeguard the area while coordinated operations began to safely evacuate the fuel and remove the tanker from the roadway.

‎As of the time of this report, no casualties had been recorded.

‎The FRSC commended motorists and residents for their cooperation and urged road users to remain calm, obey traffic instructions, and exercise patience while recovery efforts continued.

‎The Corps reaffirmed its commitment to proactive emergency response, effective traffic management, and the protection of lives and property on Nigerian roads.
