‎The Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, has assured Defence Holdings Company Limited (DHCL) of his administration’s readiness to partner with the company for the establishment of Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products (DFAAP) in Wase Local Government Area of the state.

‎This was contained in a statement signed by  SAMAILA UBA Major General

‎Director, Defence Information January 28, 2026

‎According to the statement, Governor Mutfwang gave the assurance on Tuesday, January 28, 2026, while receiving the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO) of DHCL, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Victor Ndace, and his delegation at the Government House, Jos.

‎

‎Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Architect Samuel Jatau, the governor expressed appreciation for DHCL’s vision, particularly its intervention in the agricultural sector. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Plateau State Government to the immediate handover of the 30,000 hectares of land already allocated to the company in Wase to enable the take-off of the project.

‎According to the governor, the Defence Farms initiative will not only enhance food production but also contribute significantly to improved security in Wase and neighbouring communities.

‎He commended the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, for his sustained efforts in promoting peace and national stability, and reiterated the resolve of his administration to collaborate closely with DHCL, through the Defence Headquarters, to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

‎Governor Mutfwang also encouraged the DHCL delegation to explore Plateau State’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscape during their visit.

‎Earlier, Air Vice Marshal Ndace said he was in Plateau State on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff to appreciate the governor for allocating 30,000 hectares of land for the initial phase of the Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products initiative.

‎He disclosed that the visit was accompanied by a technical assessment team to evaluate the land and identify areas of collaboration with the state government in line with the Federal Government’s food security agenda.

‎The DHCL GMD/CEO thanked the Plateau State Government for the warm reception accorded him and his team, and prayed for sustained peace and continuous development in the state.

‎Highlights of the visit included a presentation on the agricultural potential of the 98,000 hectares of land at Wase out of which 30,000 hectares has been designated for the first phase of the DFAAP project an exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph involving state government officials and members of the DHCL delegation.
