Marwa: Technology will drive transparency, efficiency, and a drug-free Nigeria
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has unveiled a new digital portal designed to simplify the process of conducting drug integrity tests and obtaining visa clearance certificates across Nigeria.
According to the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd.), the new system is part of the agency’s broader effort to digitize operations, promote transparency, and strengthen Nigeria’s anti-drug campaign.
“This new digital portal allows institutions, organizations, and individuals including parents and prospective couples — to apply for drug integrity tests seamlessly,” Marwa explained. “It provides a verified, standardized, and secure process for testing and certification. It is a non-judgmental pathway designed to support our national drive for drug demand reduction, fostering healthier communities, safer workplaces, and a more secure national labour force.”
Marwa emphasized that the innovation reflects the NDLEA’s commitment to leveraging technology in addressing the dynamic challenges of drug trafficking and abuse.

“This initiative is proof that the NDLEA is committed to using technology to combat the evolving complexities of drug trafficking and abuse,” he stated. “It is part of a broader strategy to modernize and secure our operations. The war against drug abuse is one we must win for the sake of our youth, our families, and the future of our nation. With technology as our ally, we are better equipped, stronger, and more resolved than ever before.”
He called on government agencies, private institutions, and citizens to embrace the digital system and take advantage of its user-friendly features, stressing that the portal’s success depends on collective responsibility.
“The success of this initiative is a shared responsibility,” Marwa concluded. “Together, we can build a drug-free Nigeria anchored on transparency, innovation, and integrity.”
