Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), working in close collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have recovered three AK-47 rifles and five magazines during an intelligence-led follow-up operation along the Mafa border corridor in Borno State.
The operation followed a fierce clash with terrorists on August 7, 2025, which led to the neutralisation of one insurgent. Acting on intelligence, the troops launched a follow-on mission that resulted in the discovery of the additional cache of weapons believed to have been hidden by the fleeing terrorists.

Military authorities have hailed the troops for their courage and tactical precision, urging them to sustain the momentum of intelligence-driven offensives across the North-East theatre.
Security analysts note that the recovery marks a significant setback to the terrorists’ operational capacity, reinforcing the ongoing military campaign to restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
