The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has thrown its support behind President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing the administration’s policies as efforts to reverse Nigeria’s history of economic underperformance.

The group said the reforms were beginning to stabilise the economy, improve productive activities and create opportunities across critical sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing and solid minerals.

In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, TMV described the position presented by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Tinubu at the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) Summit in Abuja as appropriate.

The group acknowledged that the Tinubu administration assumed office under difficult economic circumstances but maintained that sustainable economic growth required deliberate policy decisions rather than quick fixes.

According to TMV, the government’s economic policies are helping to stabilise the economy while creating opportunities for young job seekers, farmers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and innovators.

It pointed to increased manufacturing activities, local sourcing of industrial inputs, improved macroeconomic indicators and job creation as some of the gains it attributed to the ongoing reforms.

The group also highlighted developments in the agricultural sector, noting that efforts were being made to connect farms with storage facilities, processing centres and markets.

It said investments and policy attention directed towards irrigation, mechanisation, agricultural financing and rural infrastructure were important steps towards improving productivity and strengthening food supply chains.

On the solid minerals sector, TMV commended the government’s reported shift from dependence on raw mineral extraction towards domestic processing, industrial production and exports.

The group further expressed optimism that the administration would sustain efforts to create an enabling business environment capable of helping Nigerian businesses compete internationally, particularly in technology, financial services and other emerging sectors.

TMV maintained that the success of the reforms would depend on their continued implementation and their ability to translate economic improvements into better living conditions and opportunities for ordinary Nigerians.
