The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk power supply to its Katampe 330kV Transmission Substation through the Gwagwalada–Katampe 330kV Line 1.

The restoration was completed at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, according to a statement issued by TCN management.

The company said the restoration followed an earlier disruption to supply through the Shiroro–Katampe 330kV Line 1, which remains out of service due to a fault.

TCN also announced the suspension of planned maintenance on the Gwagwalada–Katampe 330kV Line 1 to allow it to continue supplying the Katampe substation.

The scheduled maintenance involved replacing defective line isolators and the associated earthing switch.

The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the disruption and maintenance arrangements.

TCN did not specify in the statement when the faulty Shiroro–Katampe line would return to service.
